Ep. 4 - Why kindness matters

Mike Kim

ENTREPRENEUR | ACTIVIST | STORYTELLER

According to a 2018 study published in the Journal of Social Psychology, kindness has positive effects on happiness. But my friend Mike Kim believes that true kindness leads to more than just happiness.

Mike is a Korean American kindness activist who has worked to live a life of compassion. Born out of a journey of heartbreak and loss, Mike founded Some Neat Place - a platform for sharing life-saving stories of kindness with a genuine mission to help show the world how one kind act a day can change the world.

As a son of immigrants who toiled to achieve the American dream, Mike’s childhood was shaped by hardship, bullying, racism, and the identity crisis that many Asian Americans share. And that's just the beginning of Mike's story.

From fashion, food, music, to street art, Mike says Some Neat Place is going to make being kind cool again! You can find out more about Mike’s organization and his recent projects here.
